VCI Packaging Paper

ZERUST® VCI Paper combines sustainable materials with advanced corrosion protection technology. Produced from responsibly sourced paper, this solution is biodegradable, recyclable, and repulpable, making it an environmentally responsible packaging option.

The paper is treated on both sides with ZERUST® Vapor Corrosion Inhibitor Technology. These corrosion-inhibiting molecules are released into the enclosed space, where they form a protective layer on exposed metal surfaces. This barrier helps prevent rust and oxidation caused by moisture, air, and other contaminants.

After removal from the packaging, the protective layer dissipates naturally, leaving metal parts clean and ready for immediate use. No additional cleaning or preparation is required before further processing such as painting, welding, or assembly.

This VCI Paper is ideal for wrapping, interleaving, or separating metal components, offering protection without adding complexity to packaging operations. It can be used across a wide range of applications, including multimetal environments. For more aggressive conditions, it can be paired with ZERUST® VCI films, rust preventatives, coatings, or VCI diffuser products to enhance overall protection.

Metal Types:

ZERUST® VCI Paper provides multimetal corrosion protection for a wide range of metals, including ferrous alloys, aluminum, copper, brass, and zinc.

Availability:

ZERUST® VCI Kraft Paper is available in 60# basis weight rolls. Contact your ZERUST® representative for ordering information.

Handling:

  • Wrap or interleave metal parts with VCI Paper and place them inside a fully enclosed poly bag, box, or container for best results
  • Avoid direct contact between metal surfaces and wood or cardboard, which can introduce moisture and acids
  • Pack only clean and dry parts; parts with additional oil-based rust preventatives are acceptable
  • Always wear clean and dry gloves when handling metal parts to prevent corrosion-causing fingerprints
  • Do not reuse old, torn, dirty, or contaminated VCI Paper
  • For interleaving applications, place a sheet of VCI Paper between each layer of metal parts
  • Ensure VCI vapors are not blocked by non-protective packaging materials
  • Keep metal parts at or near room temperature during packaging to avoid condensation
