ZERUST® Ferrous VCI Film delivers reliable, cost-efficient corrosion protection for ferrous metals including steel, iron, and cast iron. Designed for use in shipping, storage, and in-process operations, this advanced packaging solution helps prevent rust formation while simplifying your protection process.

VCI Packaging Films

ZERUST® Ferrous VCI Film releases a controlled vapor of corrosion inhibitors that are invisible, odorless, and safe to use. These protective molecules disperse throughout the enclosed space and form a thin, molecular layer on exposed metal surfaces, shielding them from moisture, oxygen, and other corrosive elements.

When parts are removed from the packaging, the protective layer naturally dissipates, leaving surfaces clean and ready for immediate use. No additional cleaning or surface preparation is required before painting, welding, or assembly.

This Ferrous VCI Film is ideal for protecting a wide range of metal items, including machined components, castings, engines, and tooling. For demanding environments such as high humidity or extended storage, it can be paired with ZERUST® rust preventative coatings or VCI diffuser products to enhance protection.

Engineered for flexibility, ZERUST® Ferrous VCI Film is available in multiple formats including rolls, sheeting, tubing, and bags. Custom sizes and configurations are also available to meet specific packaging and protection needs. Whether your parts are in storage or moving through global supply chains, this solution provides consistent, long-lasting corrosion defense.

ZERUST® Ferrous VCI Film is available in a wide range of standard stock options, along with customizable solutions to meet specific application requirements. Non-stock options include UV stabilizers, acid-gas blockers, anti-block, slip, and anti-static additives, subject to minimum order quantities. Contact your ZERUST® representative for ordering information.

Bags & Tubing: 3” – 125” (flat) , 10” – 150” (gusset)

Sheeting: 3” – 26’

Handling:

Pack only clean and dry parts
Always wear clean and dry gloves when handling metal parts to prevent corrosion-causing fingerprints
Ensure metal parts are at or near room temperature before packaging to avoid condensation
Tightly seal packages using tape, heat sealing, zip ties, or folding methods
Use additional ZERUST® materials, such as VCI Kraft Paper, for interleaving in large, dense, or layered packaging
Avoid direct contact between metal surfaces and wood or cardboard, which can introduce moisture and acids
